Attire 12 – winter boots

Come December, when the weather turns wild and unpredictable lace-ups and loafers just won’t cut it anymore. Ankles need more protection from the elements – there’s nothing worse than cold, wet socks. So I find myself wearing boots most of the winter months. Here’s three pairs to fit most situations:
Loake wingtip chelsea boots (left)
Smart enough for the city but waterproof in case of any rain or snow showers.
Redwing 875 boots (middle)
Redwing have been making work boots since 1905 and manufactured boots for the American Army during both the First and Second World Wars. Suffice to say, that these boots are almost indestructible, I’ve had mine for 3 years and there’s barely any signs of wear. Redwing’s are practical and look great with selvedge denim.
LL Bean – Bean Boots (right)
For a Christmas day walk in the snow there’s nothing better to keep your feet warm and completely dry than Bean Boots.
Their design hasn’t changed since their original design in 1912. The leather upper is thoroughly stitched into the molded rubber sole so nothing can get inside. These are the 8″ versions. Remember to order a size smaller than you normally wear.
