PreposityWimbledon 2011
Preposity will be covering Wimbledon 2011. I will be attending and documenting on Friday 24th June.
21st of June is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, but to me the true start of summer is the beginning of Wimbledon fortnight. Sometimes the first monday of the championships falls on the 21st, this year it falls on the 20th, but it all means one thing – tennis, and lots of it, my favourite time of year. In childhood it meant running home from school to catch the last few matches of the day. It has always meant attending whether with tickets from the ballot at my tennis club or just waking up extremely early to go and queue (half the fun for us Brits).
