PreposityPreposity at Wimbledon 2011
Having grown up watching Wimbledon each year, I have to say the recent uniforms by Ralph Lauren make a huge difference in terms of the atmosphere. To wander around the grounds of the All England Club passing the many ground staff, linesmen and women, ball boys and girls, all looking proud in their uniforms reminds me of the terrible and impractical uniforms that were endured for so long. Yes, they are a little ‘trad’ and certainly display an Amercian view of English traditions but then Wimbledon is an historic event and somehow, amongst the ivy covered clubhouse, the Pimms, the strawberries, it all works
